Why we built GroundsQuote
I got my start mowing lawns with my brothers for spending money through high school and college. After that I worked in landscaping professionally, first on a crew and then running crews and managing the people on them.
I eventually moved on to a different career, but I never really left the industry. I kept noticing the same things: quotes that took a drive and a measuring wheel, schedules kept on whiteboards, invoices that went out late. I always wanted to fix them.
So I built GroundsQuote for friends and former colleagues who still run lawn and landscape companies, to take the paperwork off their hands. Now I am opening it up to every company that wants to quote faster, run a tighter schedule and grow.

What is GroundsQuote?
GroundsQuote is software for lawn care and landscaping companies. Instant Quote, the quote form on your website, measures the lawn from the homeowner’s address and prices it with your rates; accepted quotes become scheduled jobs for your crews; finished visits become invoices that customers pay online.
How does it measure a lawn from an address?
When a homeowner types their address, GroundsQuote loads the property on a map, traces the property lines, finds the house and other buildings and subtracts them, and reports the lawn area in square feet. The homeowner or your team can adjust the outline or leave out a pool or patio.
Is GroundsQuote really free?
Yes. The Free plan is free forever with no card: Instant Quote with lawn measuring, customers and emailed quotes, scheduling and the crew app for one crew, and invoices you create and send, up to 10 requests and 10 quotes a month. Paid plans add unlimited quoting, automatic invoicing, online payments, more crews and more, and start with a 30-day free trial.
Does it work with my website?
Yes. Every business gets a hosted quote page and an embed for WordPress, Squarespace, Wix, GoDaddy or any site. Without a website, share the link in Google Business Profile, Facebook and texts.
Can my crews use it on their phones?
Yes. Crews see their own day in route order with navigation, gate codes, checklists and photos, and clock in and out. It works in English or Spanish per person, crew logins are free on every plan, and it installs on the home screen of any iPhone or Android phone to open like an app, with notifications when their day changes.
Can customers pay online?
Yes, with the Online payments add-on ($19/month, included on Business): card, Apple Pay, Google Pay or bank transfer, through your own Stripe account. With autopay on, you can have each invoice go out as soon as the job is finished, or 15 minutes or an hour later, and the customer’s card or bank account charged right away, with the receipt emailed.
Does GroundsQuote use AI?
Yes, where it saves you time. Every paid plan includes an AI assistant that answers questions about your own schedule, customers, quotes and invoices, and prepares changes such as raining out a day or drafting a quote. Nothing changes until you press Confirm, and it can be switched off. Lawn measuring from the address is built in on every plan.
Can I move from Jobber, Yardbook or a spreadsheet?
Yes. Import customers and properties, services, crews and equipment from a CSV export of Jobber, Yardbook, Service Autopilot or a spreadsheet, check every row before it goes in, and undo an import if it goes wrong.
